Acupressure therapy is a complete therapeutic approach which contributes to pain relief, restored functionality, relaxation and the attainment of perfect health.
What it is:
A Trigger Point of muscular fascia is an extra-sensitive point of a skeletal muscle.
A hyperirritable spot, usually within a taut band of skeletal muscle or in the muscle's fascia that is painful on compression and that can give rise to characteristic referred pain, tenderness, and autonomic phenomena.
What stimuli activate a Trigger Point:
- Mechanical overload
- Repetitive over-usage resulting in fatigue (long-term poor posture, or stress)
- Direct trauma
- Indirect stimulation because of arthritic joints, visceral disease and psychosomatic exhaustion
- Direct and better function of muscles and joints after ischemic pressure on specific muscle points for 10 to 45 seconds.
- Stretching and spray.
The path of pain may not relate to the muscle’s origin-insertion point.
